Seeing through Jesus’ eyes

We all have times or people that seem to make Christian – agapé – love seem extra hard! In a recent Christ Church sermon, Loving When It’s Hard to Love I shared three ‘ways of seeing’ that are necessary for my unloving heart to be transformed.

1. I need to SEE HOW CHRIST LOVED ME! (Romans 5:8, 1John 3:1-3)

2. I need to SEE THE OTHER PERSON AS JESUS SEES THEM! (2 Corinthians 5:16-20) They TOO are made in the image of God!

3. I need to SEE THAT THE GOAL IS TO BUILD ONE ANOTHER UP! In addition to “speaking the truth in love” (Ephesians 4:15), taking time to learn the other person’s “back story” can really bring things into perspective! (1Corinthians 8:1, 10:23, 13:1-8)
