Countering Consumerism – Just in time for Christmas!

I’ve mentioned  that Speaking of Faith is my favorite, thought-provoking podcast/website.  “Financial Educator” Nathan Dungan, gives some extremely practical and needed advice from his years of seeking to create a “counter rythm” to the inbred consumerism of our culture.  He began an organization called Share-Save-Spend, helping people develop healthier financial habits.  You’ve got to listen to this or read the transcript and share it with your family.  The program (linked here) is called,  Money and Moral Balance  It begins like this:  The sales are starting, the stores are open late, and many of us are gearing up to spend more money than we actually have in a holiday season with deep roots in religion. We explore the turmoil many of us experience with money in our day-to-day lives — and how we might work towards a moral and practical balance for ourselves and the next generation.
